I stumbled upon this forum a few days ago and need some help with two questions regarding a Ford 1500 tractor. Mine is not running - turns over, but no compression. A friend suggested that maybe buying a head kit would fix it without the expense of buying a new/used tractor. However, we can't seem to find one anywhere.
So the first question is - does anyone know who to contact to find out how to fix this problem, and who might have the parts and how expensive it would be?
Second, if we can't find the parts - what is the resale market for parts? This tractor has a new starter, new glow plugs and wire, new battery, new steering wheel, and tires. I read another set of forums at this site about someone selling just the back end of their Ford 1500 for $1000+.
I will appreciate all the sound advice anyone can offer. Thank you.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
