I figured it must have been heavy ground to make that tractor work with a 16" plow because it's clearly set correctly. I plowed about 55 acres this past week with the 7710 running 4 bottoms at 18-20" mostly. Some of that was fairly heavy clay, but probably not as heavy as yours. She took that at 5-5.75 mph in 5th under and direct mostly. That old girl is turned up to about 105 PTO... but still not blowing as much smoke as your ollie.
I wonder did they do the injectors in the 18 when the rest was rebuilt? It shouldn't smoke at idle even if it was turned up... but I'm sure it would damn well smoke at load. I know this Ford does. It smokes bad off idle until the turbo gets spinning. Looks like somebody just threw another shovel full of coal on the fire...
