Start at gearbox. It drives a shaft which drives a pulley which works the cutter bar and is memory is correct, a sprocket which runs a chain which drives one roller, on the other end of that roller another sprocket drives a chain to the other roller. Your first drive chain is broken or was loose and jumped off the sprockets. There is an idler sprocket which tightens the chain and if that sprocket is bad it can cause the chain to break or jump off(have seen that). I may have some details wrong but start at the gear box and trace the roller drive process. There is a problem somewhere, hopefull a minor one.
While you are at it, check tightness on belt that drives cutterbar. You really don't want to have to replace it.
Another thing that goes bad is the bushing that the bolt that is on the end of the cutterbar goes in. You have to remove the cutterbar, or blade as it is usually called, and have a new bushing pressed in at the NH dealers, if you dont have your own hudraulic press. Keep an old worn out bushing to start pressing the old one out, remove it after 1/4 inch or less of movement, then put new bushing in place and press in. Don't try the hammer routine. You need to keep a spare blade on hand.
There is a belt on the other side of the 469 that drives the reel, but it seldom gives trouble.
Other than that, keep greased and check the oil in the gearbox.
