To add to 37 Chief's baling wire post. The big boss where I worked found out I still fed wire tied bales. About every year, I would take him a feed sack full of carefull cut and wrapped baling wire.
This was back when the company still require you to wear a suit coat to work, tie, etc. you could take your coat off when you got in the office.
He also found out I was a WWII history buff. Used to scare me to death. My phone would ring, he would say "Painter, get in here" I would scurry down the hall. Once in his office, reared back with his feet on the desk, looking out those huge windows of that corner office He would ask, " What do you read about those tiger tanks? Were they pretty good?" He had parachuted into Bastonge during the battle of the Bulge. Then he might load me up to go to Central Dairy for ice cream.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
