Either get a real waste oil furnace or don't bother. We had one of those drip type units and it was way too much trouble to maintain. It made real nasty smoke, crudded up the chimney stack, and required daily cleaning. The final straw was when the chimney caught fire and burned up all the excess oily carbon. Smoked the whole shop and we had to repaint and clean everything.
The shop owner then got a real, $$$$ unit, with built in workbench/oil tank, and has had a nice toasty shop ever since with no problems and minimal maintenance.
A friend of mine did run an oil line into his woodstove, and would burn maybe a quart an afternoon in it. It did save on firewood and dispose of the oil. He used all stainless and a ball valve to drip into the firebox once he head a good bed of coals going. Don't think he had chimney fires with it as he did use wood also.
