I was going to plant some beans in the stubble, but the straw spreader did such a poor job of spreading the straw, hence the big windrows, that I don't think the beans will come up under them, so I'm going to probably plow it under. Last year we had an antique plow days on the ground. It is mostly sandy/sandy loam and plows beautiful. It's mostly pretty loamy, but there are some sand spots so I need to keep some trash in the ground to hold it together. The farm was my grandfathers, now owned by my Aunt and Uncle. It has been farmed by our family for 86 years. My other Uncle, who was 82 when he quit farming farmed it for several years, and retired last year. My Aunt wanted a family member to farm it and since I have several antique tractors, she came to me. I decided what the heck, but then decided I had better get some newer eqt. The combine was a spur of the moment deal when we went to look at a field cultivator from a retired farmer.
