If it has the 1-3-4-2 firing order make sure you you have that on your distributor cap. You probably need to bring No1 piston near the radiator to TDC on the compression stroke note which way the rotor is turning and see where its pointing when you're at TDC. It should be at the No1 plug tower, then the other plug wires should be installed in the firing order around the cap. Your timing marks should be aligned when you're at TDC too.
If the rotor is off and its at No4 you should pull the distributor & turn the rotor so its at the No1 plug tower and reinstall. Hal
