Lots of the corn here is so uneven. With being planted, replanted, and in some cases replanted a second time.
I watched a farmer replant corn day before yesterday. 24th of June. 19 days after the crop ins. final plant dated for this area. He had the fertilizer and herbicide down, and it is creek bottom with lots of moisture. The corn wont catch up, but I'll bet it grows like crazy down there.
Mine looked bad for a long time, but it sure took off this past week.
My dad had a saying that corn didn't grow good until it got warm enough to where you had to kick the sheets off at night. That was pre-air conditioning of course.
