Look otto, not trying to get in a pi$$ing with you. You're TOTALLY taking this the wrong way.
I wasn't blaming the body shop whatsoever.I'm sorry you took it that way.I'll admit, the way I interpreted the post is that the cruise hasn't worked since the collision.I still do.I simply said to take it to the body shop that did the repair. They know exactly where the damage was done and to what extent.A quick look in the affected areas COULD reveal the culprit.Could very well be it had absolutely nothing to do with the accident.
If no apparent damage is noticed by the body shop, the customer should take it in and get it diagnosed by a competent repair shop, but only after the body shop has had a chance to take a peek.Is it possible they didn't hook something up? Yes very! I'd sure appreciate the chance as a shop owner to make a mistake right before a customer comes in my shop with guns-a-blazin' because another shop charged them for a repair which was my responsibilty.Particularly if I was the cause of the malfuntion.
Lastly,I've been in and around the body and repair business for over 25 yrs. My cousin owns a very reputable body shop down the road from me.Several close friends either own or are employed in reputable body shops.Never once has any of these folks said that they hate insurance gigs because they don't pay enough. If any remark is made,it's that they LOVE insurance work and usually make out pretty well.Sometimes VERY well. The payment checks are always on time, never bounce, owners never asked if they offer a payment plan, never stiffed for a job done.
This got blown WAY out of proportion.Let' get back to the holiday weekend huh?

Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
