When you say pop with a pin, do you mean after it dries? You could be pulling the primer coat off, it hasnt dried long enough. It may be dried chunks of paint from the can. You could try filtering the paint, also sounds like the paint may have frozen sometime in the past. Was your primer the same brand/color? More details, have done alot of painting. Assume you are covering drywall.
