For a very simple way of chaining up a tire, just run separate pieces through the eyelets in the cast wheel and around the tire, do this in four different places on the wheel and it will give you the bite you need on ice and snow. We just used a regular pin type chain splice to connect each chain. Dont put them near the valve stem though. Snug them up good and you can add more if you need them. We did this on an older loader tractor one winter and worked fine, we also have a few sets of factory built chains, they ride on top of the tread and more agressive but ride rougher and you need to keep your speed real slow on roads.
