The 2 amp charger is probably O.K. The charger converts the A.C. voltage to a pulsating D.C. that the meter can't read accurately. To test it, measure the voltage on a 12 volt battery that you want to charge, connect the charger and then measure the voltage about an hour later with the charger still connected. The voltage will be about 2 or 3 volts higher if the charger is working. HTH. Gene:
