The #1 bow is an aluminum die-casting that has very thin ears at the first hinge area. I sold this part for a while and we could never talk the German engineers into adding stock to make the clevis area stronger. I even went on record and wrote them a letter to cover us from any failure liability. The balance of the metal parts in the top are magnesium. It has small hydraulic cylinders in the rails that accomplish the folding action. Kind of cool.
The top is made by a German company called CTS at their assembly plant in Bowling Green KY.
