The widow of a guy I worked with is selling of his 'stuff', meaning tractors, equipment and tools. Ray's son was telling me some of the tractor prices his mother got from a local farmer on 2 tractors. Both are gassers and in fair to average condition. I don't have an idea what year they are one is an IH 656 that runs ok the other an IH 504 with a loader the bearings in the front end are shot and it needs a hydraulic steering motor. She was told the 656 should sell for $7,500 and the 504 for $6,500. That sounds awful steep to me especially for gas tractors. I can't find any of my HotLine equipment books to see at least what the average auction prices were on these for the last year I got them.Any information is appreciated.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
