this happend h=just a few years ago now but when dad was baling hay with out JD 24T kicker baler for some reason the bale it trew landed back on the pan or whatever so dad hopped off the tractor (without shutting the PTO off) and grabbed the bale offa the kicker. the kicker kicked and threw him back against the wagon and left a 2 inch gash in his neck kinda between his adams apple and his jugular. to this day he will tell you he has no idea why he didnt shut the PTO off. another story. my nieghbor is missing his middle through pinky fingers at the knuckel. he was chopping with a flail chopper and something went wrong. he sut the machine off but didnt wait for it to stop before he reached underneath. took his fingers right off like nothing. one neighbor is missing a leg because of trying to step over top of a PTO shaft on a chopperbox. have more stories but point taken on my part. ALWAYS shut the PTO off and let it stop spinning before getting off the tractor! M puller in WI
