Was asked ,if I fixed it myself, how did G.M.rip me off? Well if i wasn"t able to do the fixing,I would have to buy the whole Da## console. Now thats a rip off. Most people just cant repair any thing, so out comes the check book, and still ,after buying the part , it won"t work. Now you have Mechanics fees, plus parts, plus state& federal taxes , ond most likely lots of numerious return trips to the dealer who is MILES AWAY from your home. In 1969 I bought a NEW CHEV CARRYALL. Lots of horror stories I can tell ya. But it would take up this entire forum.ALl goes back to the saying"once burnt ,twice shy" Now I will state ,there are one whole lot of smart people on this site who can fix a lot of things, and has the kindness in their hearts TO SHARE their knowledge. Guess the fellow who asked the question would be most likely to be burnt more then once. LOU
