When Grandpa was a yungin, He got too close to a running thresher belt. The static from the belt pulled his overalls or shirt up to the belt where the lacing grabbed them and tore them right off his body and left him standing there with not a lot left on. Good thing the overalls were old ones but he was still badly bruised up and a lot wiser. He farmed all his life and I think it was due to that accident that he paid close attention to what he was doing in the future and stayed clear for moving shafts and machinery. He had all 10 fingers when he passed. I also knew a fellow who survived a trip into a corn picker. He had missing limbs and tons of scars but was still very lucky as most people who made that trip didn't come out alive.
