Hello, mlauk. My horses graze on bahaia also, but bahaia has a low palatability level (how digestible it is). If your horse is an "easy keeper" they will do well on it, but if they aren't, they will need a higher quality hay like coastal, timothy, etc. Even though our bahaia is clean (95% or better weed free) we don't sell the bahaia for horse hay.

Hope this explains it a little better; probably should have used better words than "not recommended".
