I put a set of four 225-60-16 made in China hi-performance directional tires from Firestone on an Olds 88 last November, and after 10,000 miles they've been great.
I did go into it with a bit of trepidation, but they're smooth, quiet, and after 10K miles show no noticeable wear. Also, seem more stable with less aquaplaning driving in heavy rain. Like I said, they are directional, you can only rotate front to rear and not side to side.
By comparison, I have another identical Olds 88 with same size Michelons, and I'll have to say the Michelons are noisier and ride rougher.
BTW, it always amuses me how there are certain members of this forum who automatically condemn anything made in China without owning the item in question or making any kind of fair comparison. I won't go into politics or balance of trade, but China has come a long way on quality in the last ten years or so.
