Not quite the same thing but...I was flying a Schweizer 1-26 sailplane a few years ago in Fl. On take off, on tow about 200 ft in the air, a large green frog came out of the air vent and started jumping up and down in my line of vision. Startled me so bad I almost pulled the rope release. I would have landed in a bunch of scrub so I ignored the frog and flew the plane. Afterwards we never could find the frog. Probably bailed out. Had to ignore a lot of kidding about adding frogs to the preflight check list.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
