Wayne, that sure is an interesting piece they built, surprised you have not seen that one before.
Another interesting story about custom built equipment is the Peterson Machinery Company, a Caterpillar dealer out west, link to their history is posted below. R.G. LeTourneau is another, they have evolved with some large equipment over the years too.
Hard to realize the demand for such size equipment, but I guess it's out there, so when that D11 just won't cut it, you have to build your own, often wondered what CAT's take was on that ACCO, Peterson sure did quite will with Caterpillar and there custom built projects, some good reading for any earthmoving equipment fan, Peterson really catered to the demand of large civil project contractors it seems.
