1. At the outside of the shoe of the combine (on both sides), set the seive and chaffer at the lowest settings in front and the highest at the rear. I.E. The residue should have to "climb" out of the shoe.
2. Keep the engine/separator at wide open throttle.
3. Most Important and most common mistake: You've gotta keep the combine full.
Increase the ground speed until that cylinder "thumps" and then back off just a tad until you get a nice "hissing" sound of the crop going thru the concaves.
As with any combine, if you let the load lighten, the wind will take over and blow the crop right out the back.
Can't imagine a 13' head needing any weights at all. Just not that much weight there.
