Most newer cars are coming with a sealed hub assembly. Our 1999 Malibu was like that. In the ~7 years we owned that car, we put three front hubs into it, with only ~150,000km on it. That really hurt the pocket book when, installed, they were running nearly $650.
My new to me Grand Prix GT2 is a 2004, and with only 75,000km on it, it needs a new front left hub. A buddy of mine quoted me $400, or $300 for a lesser-quality knock-off. RockAuto can do one for $110.
