No, the 460 is not known for Head Gasket problems. My 460 has never had an Head Gasket issue in 216,000 miles.Your statement that he has had "3" engines in this truck leaves a lot of unanswered questions about who determined these engines were ok for a retrofit,who did the installations etc. The Ford 460 was and is a dependable, strong pulling motor which if serviced regularly and taken care of will give many miles of trouble free performance. Any claims of poor performance or disatisfaction with the engines durability always has an underlying cause if the truth can be found out.
