Sam, you couldn't have said it better... I look as this forum as an "internet coffee shop",.And,, every "conversation" may not be "my cup of tea" but, members can choose whether or not to participate....just like downtown........In 1949, my folks built a cafe in Erskine, Minnesota, A community of 600 with two railroads, two US hiways, a creamery, grain elevator, auto and implement dealership, telephone company headquarters, lumber mill, potato warehouse, truck stop, lumber yard, blacksmith shop, butcher shop, steak house, seven service stations, a vet, a showhall, three bulk fuel dealers, department store, two grocery stores, two hardware stores, two old folks homes, hotel, motel, cabins, bank, shoe shop, two churches in town, 12 grade school, two cafes, post office, barber shop, pool hall, liquor store, Manufacturing company, photographer, passenger seervice from two bus lines and both railroads..... One very busy little farming community... Lots of coffee served; and lots of conversation...The old timers would come in and talk aroun the good old days... Some of these old fellers were in their 80s and 90s, and explained to me how they used to power the grain seperators with a horse sweep and pull stumps with a stump puller. The old timers loved talking about the olden days...May God Bless Their Memory.. Lots of "variety" in the other conversations....Bottom line........ One BUSY little cafe,,,because people enjoyed the conversation and fellowship, and a good cup of coffee or meal to boot...Do I miss this?? yes... For many of us; this forum helps fill the void left when it is not possible to frequent the coffee shops...

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
