We have a "low end" Holland grill. $400 range back in 2004.
One heat setting, cast iron burner guaranteed to never rust out, indirect heat. We like it. It is indirect heat and always cook with the cover closed. Being indirect heat it seldom if ever flares up so you don't cremate what you are cooking. It is also very forgiving...leave your steak on too long it may dry it some but won't cremate it. So, you can close the lid, go off and leave it to cook. You don't have to constantly stand over it.
A different cooking experience but makes lots of good stuff to eat.
You can put water in it for a steamer, or wood chips for a smoker
