The smaller ones are fine, they just asked too much from the 310's. For their size, they're pretty much maxed out from the factory.
That's a good part of the reason why they just can't compete with similarly sized tractrs of other brands at the pulls. The others have a lot more room to push the envelope. Built right they can be good, but I'd rather have a Cummins. We've got a dead 1755 in back that had engine troubles as well 8 years ago. I'd love to put a cummins in, but I never have time or $$$ to do it.
