We have a 2007 Tahoe and have had virtually no troubles at all out of it. Our only problem was a wind noise that was cured by replacing the driver's side mirror while under warrenty. It however is quite a gas hog and only gets 14.5 miles per gallon.
I know what you mean about the "pre-owned" though. We just bought my daughter a "new" 2008 car that only had 26 miles on it. It had been titled from one dealer going out of business to another. Thus it was a "used" or "pre-owned" car. We lost some warrenty period because of it.
