IMO it doesn't matter if it's an eighty year old machine or a shiney new one that just came off the showroom floor, combine inexperience with a lack of caution (relative safety) and you can get hurt or get someone hurt. My 1976 MF 255 doesn't have a ROPS but I am always thoughtful as to where I am and what I'm doing. Inspite being careful, it seems that at least once a year I drop a stablizer bar on my foot and it hurts like ... well you know what I mean. There is a lot of places around farm equipment that as the other person said can bite! Combine caution with some common sense and have a good time!
