Welp yesterday had to be my lucky day and I blew it on a water pump. My son's Jeep has been stored in the barn for some time and I usually get it out in the summer and drive it around the farm so it doesn't deteriorate. Welp it started squealling and the water pump went south. I started the job and as I removed the first stud on the pump I snapped it off, about an inch protruding..well I debated how I would tackle it..weld a nut onto it, try vise grips or a stud extractor..in meantime I sprayed it with penetrating oil and left it overnight. I picked up the new pump at Carquest and went at it. I decided to try the vise grips first and the grips seemed to slip on it..then I moved them and could see the stud was turning easily..I took the vice grips off and turned the stud out with my fingers...then I broke another stud that held the alternator..sprayed it and it turned out with the same ease....I worried more about that broken stud than the time it took to turn it out..anyway the Jeep is fixed and back together..waiting for me to drive it around the farm!

In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
