Occasionally I look at the Photo Ads to see how things are going and I’ve recently noticed a lot of old iron is making it to the ads. Of course you have the usual guys who are semi-dealers that renew the ad every couple days if they don’t get a bite and the dealers (probably salesmen) who list whatever they’ve got but it looks like guys are really cleaning up behind the barn. Some of it is reasonably priced and some are looking for a sucker. Some doesn’t look bad and some of it is pure junk. I don’t blame anyone for trying to get as much as he can for what he’s listing after all it’s his iron but, apparently some of these guys aren’t aware you probably won’t be able to get you kid though college with what you get for a junk “B” or an old “M”. And there are those that still don’t understand that there is more to a restoration than a paint job, tune-up and new decals but that is the buyers problem. Anyone who thinks a high crop is a rarity should go down south in sugar cane country and that is about all they have.
