I was in your place a year ago and I took a different approach. I bought an older (IH 3616) TLB with the idea of using it for a while, then sell it, and (hopefully) get most of my money back. It's a crap shoot but so far I have had no troubles and I've completed about half of my tasks. I can't disagree with the other posts, but renting for me was not an option ... I work too slow. and upgrading a 30 hp tractor with a hoe would be a major disappointment. Good Luck. Stan

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
