10-4 on crappy surge brakes. I got a 16' bumper pull with surge brakes. I got it because I wanted brakes on the trailer Ma Burr and the boys pull hay on. The surge does'nt catch in time to help with a real stop, then when you go to back up with a load on this trailer, the d**** brakes catch then and you can't back it across a ditch or up a incline to get in the hall of the barn.
