I got parts from the dealer once for a shebler carb on my wd45.
The gasket for the inlet orifice (needle and seat combo attached to the float) was made from something hard. Thought it was copper but it would not seal and leaked like you described till I replaced it with a rubber cellulose type gasket. Works great now.
