There is a heap of difference between a citron and a watermellon. They only look much alike on the outside. A citron does not get ripe like a watermellon, and is not good to eat raw, but does make good preserves, as I remember from about 60 years ago. Of course a hungry boy would eat most anything sweet after walking home after a day at a one room school. Wasn't any lunch rooms in those days, instead you took a dinner bucket. Joe
