I've got one of those folding utility knives that I clip on the outside of my pocket. When the blade gets dull, I simply turn it around or toss it and grab a new one.
Always have a nice sharp edge and I almost always have it handy. I even bring it to birthday parties for my neices/nephews because someone is always asking for a knife to take the toys out of the packaging....
