To the best of my knowledge the larger tanks are all steel.
For the smaller tanks and bottle they are generally steel but can also be aluminum.
On the bottle market now are tanks that I believe are fiberglass. The are non-metalic at least.
I own my tank. Dad bought it new in the 1960s when he bought a new MM G705. We gave it to my brother after dad died as he was going to take over the family farm. Died less than a year later and I bought it at his auction. A 500 gallon tank half full and I paid around $325 for it and the fuel. Difficult to move as I don't have a tractor larger than a compact for unloading it. With difficulty I did get it done.
