Thanks a Bunch for the info. I had heard that from friend but didn't believe Him, just seems like they would be destroyed by tighten up to 96 # maybe they just mash down into the crack around the head bolt and do the job, huh? When I took the head off a few days ago what was left of the old washers was down between the head and block, someone must have put them on wrong that time. I had a hard time getting the head off because they had put some kind of sealent on both sides of the gasket. You never know what You'll run into when You get a tractor at a auction.
