Pheasants in Pa especially Armstrong county are stocked by the game commission. In my younger years they were plentiful. and in their natural habitat. If you want one drive around the day before season . You can pick them up cause they are standing where they were left off waiting for the truck to come back and feed them.
Some blame it on the farmers that poisoned their seed , I think that's not all true, Game commission has also stocked coyote along with our Fox population. not many fur trappers anymore.
Rabbit population is slowly climbing. Although we are experiencing a few nesting Eagles [8 pair in 30 mile radius that I know of ].
