I can see not having liquid in tires as far as tractor pulling goes. It might limit your weight classes. My self , I'm another fan of liquid filled tires. I even have my front tires filled. I find that filled tires hold the ground much better , along with much much less bounce. All the way around , the ride and traction is much better. Try this test. Blow up a balloon. Take that balloon by the stem and try to bounce/rotate the balloon. Now fill it with water and try doing the same thing. You won't have to physically try this test. I'm sure you can perform it in your mind. As far as rims rotting out.(No leak/No rot).
