I don"t know how to post links, so just search engine Vishnu Springs. Legend has that the springs have near magical healing water.
A hotel, carousel, etc, was built about 1889. The springs were actually "discovered" about 1840.
Anyhow, all but the hotel is gone. It has been off limits to the public for several years. I have been there once, I am friends with the gentleman who has the keys for the gates and "calls the cops" on trespassers.
Western Illinois University owns it, it was donated to them.
A group called Friends Of Vishnu is going to open it up to the public for one day only, Sunday October 18, with a rain date of the next Sunday the 25th. Only the bottom floor of the hotel will be open, but this may the last time for the public to see it. Rumor has it that WIU wants to doze it down.
It is north and west of Tennessee, IL. I will post more info as it becomes available, but thought I will give a early "heads up" for anyone who needs to plan ahead as to dates. DOUG

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
