A small rock (I think) flew up and hit the fan which propelled it thru a rad side tank causing a 3/4" hole. To get the car home I dumped in 2 or 3 bottles of Bars Leak in desparation. To my amazement it totally sealed the hole. Once home, I took the rad in and had the hole repaired. Problem was, when I started the engine, rad stayed cold and engine got so hot it started making a ticking noise and 10 year old layers of grease were melting off the sides of the engine. Thermostat was totally plugged with Bars Leak. Cleaned it out and put another 100K on engine, ticking all the way. Still laugh about it.
