Hello John, I am not sure what clutch you have on the bus. most clutches i do on tractors the clutch fingers should be parallel to the clutch disc when bolted on the flywheel. and then the throw out bearing is adjusted to the fingers. 1/2" travel is ok to release the clutch. if the tranny is grinding then there could be something else binding. possibly the pilot bearing or a aliment issue on the clutch shaft. is there dowels on the bellhousing ?
