After carefully considering the generous comments and collective wisdom here, I decided NOT to flush the transmission. Here's my rational. If there is grit (metal particles, etc) stuck in the goop in the lowest crevases of the box, let it stay there. I think it would be bad to get this stuff circulating, especialy in low viscosity thinned oil, through all the bearings and bushings. Instead, I chose to run the tractor awhile to get everthing that normally circulates around suspended in the oil, then drain it right away. Others may view this issue differently and I'm interested in all thoughts. Thanks, David
