A gas tractor? hmmmm...Mid 20s Case 12-20 crossmotors, hands down...they're small enough to be fairly easy to haul, and odd enough to attract a crowd every time you run one... no matter how scruffy it looks. Drawbacks? They're a bear to start in the cold...even with priming cups... The darn crank has a nasty habit of jumping off if you aren't careful (Usually smacking you upside the head)... The exhaust diverters, and dual fuel carb for kero running are usually rusted solid or worn out, with negligible parts availability...And they are seriously prohibitively expensive if you went to buy one at today's prices. 2nd Place gas tractor? Rumely heavyweight Oil Pulls BUT, my all time favorite has to be the 6HP Russell steam traction engine...cute as a button, and much stronger than they look. The 2nd all time is the earlier Case steamers (say about 36HP) with those neat cast stacks!
