Rumor has it Massengil and vinegar. Some lady told me about it and swears by it. My lab got it point blank in the face one time, and it was beyond skunk was so bad. He got the concentrated industrial strength squirt. I tried tomato based everything and that did squat. It took about two days just to get him smelling like a skunk. A few days later after it mostly wore off, a lady friend told me about the Massengil and vinegar thing, and I want to the store and was so embarrassed to buy it, I bought a case of it because I was determined to never have to buy that stuff again. I have to admit, it took off the remainder of the smell, so might have worked initially as well. Two things came out of that. After I bought a case of Massengil, he never got sprayed again, so I guess it acted like insurance. The other thing is that his eye on the side of the face he got sprayed in mattered up quite a bit for years until the day he died of old age. Right after that happened, a friend of mine told me that his dogs eyes mattered up too after getting sprayed in the face, eyes like my Lou did, so I asked the vet, and the vet agreed, but there wasn't anything that she could really do except give him some medicated jelly stuff to put in it occasionally when it seemed to be bothering him. I sure do miss that dog. He was one of my best, and I've had a lot of good ones, and got a couple now. One thing about that boy, he always used to leave the toilet seat up and my female would complain cause she'd sit down and always fall in and get her tail soaked. Grin
