Why change the capacitor, there is little to no difference when changing coil voltage? If "better" operation is the goal.The alternator will operate "better" when properly wired. Excitation will be quicker and more reliable when energized. Voltage control will be more stable when the regulator receives feedback properly from the battery. If "somebody" doesn't want to do something correctly. Who is going to get blamed if it doesn't work? Is it isn't going to be "somebody" or is it going to be you.
