This one really happened! We were taking some friends from Mississippi, who had just purchased some land and were building a house, on a tour of Glacier National Park here in northwest Montana. Out of the blue, our female guest asked me how much the mountain in front of us weighted. I really had no idea how to answer that question but did ask her why she wanted to know that. She explained that they were having some landscaping done around their new house and the landscaper was hauling in some large rocks, the largest of which was supposed to weight about 5 tons. She felt that if she could get some idea of how much the mountain in front of us weighted this would give her an idea of how big this rock was going to be. I would have attempted to give her an answer but I have a hard time telling where one mountain ends and the next one begins. Anyone here want to give this one a shot?
