Wasn't as bad as it seemed. One of the rod bearings siezed. Procrastination on my part was the big issue. Been going to flush the system with diesel fuel (last oil change was a little crudier than I thought it should have been). Pickup screen and tubes looked like these cholesterol scare pics (only black). No damage to rod or shaft and he measured main bearings, checked out cylinders, rings are tight w/ no signs of wear. Everything looked good except that one rod bearing that didn't get oil. He's replacing all 3 sets (you buy stuff mostly individually for some reason) and says everything will be fine and finished by Tuesday. Difference of about 1500 bucks in parts.
