If you spot weld in the sheet metal you can fill in with Vette panel adhesive. It is expensive but uses the same catalyst as regular bondo. The Vette panel adhesive is STRONG stuff and will not pull away like bondo. It is harder to sand. Get it sanded down and smooth over with regular bondo. Spray a coat of GOOD black primer/sealer (for auto base coat/clear coat finishes) and it will last a long time. Have fun!
